Bibhuti Bhushan Kanungo

Bibhuti Bhushan Kanungo (1921-1983) was born in the village of Salgaon, Cuttack Odisha in 1921. He had taken admission at Government School of Art and Crafts, Kolkata in 1939-43 and did his specialisation in Commercial Art. He went to cuttack in 1944 and established an art school from 1947 to 1950. He also established a block printing press and commercial art studio named” Ruparekha” and began his career as a designer in Industrial Department in 1947, received State Lalit kala Akademi Award and died in 1983. To honour him, the Govt. of Odisha has established an art and crafts college in Bhubaneswar in 1984 and named it as “B.K.College of Art and Crafts”.
