Gauranga Charan Soam

Gauranga Charan Soam (1922-1989) was born in the village of Balasore, Odisha in 1922. He went to Kalabhavan, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, and did his specialisation in Painting. He began his career as a teacher in Birla Public School at Rajastan and developed his works in Rajasthan by inspiring from Indian style of paintings, Utkaliya Art Culture. He received State Lalit kala Akademi Award and his work has collected in many Galleries including Birla Akademi of Art. In his entire life he has done many works and died in 1989.
