Kalandi Vedan Jena

Kalindi Vedan Jena (1929-2009) the Pioneer of Indian Ceramic Art, was born in the village of Indupur, Kendrapada, Odisha in 1929. He went to Sevagram, Wardha, Maharastra and introduced him as a ceramist in India. In 1967 he went to Faculty of Fine Arts, Banaras and developed the Ceramic Art. He received State Lalit kala Akademi Award and retired in 1995. In his career K V Jena had settled up a number of pottery centres combining traditional Indian values with modern ideas and utilitarian needs and died in 2009.
